Re: Acupuncture for pain relief
Well here is my update on acupuncture.................
It IS helping!!!!!!I had my 3rd appointment on Friday and can honestly say that for the 1st time in the past 9 months of this flare....that I actually feel better!!!And the only change that's occurred in my treatment is acupuncture.Yes, I am so thrilled to be able to say I feel a bit better.I have vomited less, been in a bit less pain,am sleeping better and feel more relaxed. My session lasted 2 hours and I actually fell asleep during it!!I got a foot massage afterwards from his assistant and it was wonderful.I don't really understand eastern medicine, but I can tell you I am a believer!!!I so look forward to my next appointment and am trying to stay in the moment and just enjoy feeling a bit better.I have also been able to get out more this past week and that has helped me so much as well. Thanks for listening and letting me share my progress.I highly recc. acupuncture to all of you.Take care.
Warmly, Barbara

Re: Acupuncture for pain relief
Hi Barb:
I'm so glad to hear that the acupuncture is working for you. At last, you can find some relief.
This is such good news. I'm happy to hear you are getting some well needed rest, too.
Stay in the moment for as long as you can! I'm happy to hear you are getting out of the house, as well. You deserve to start feeling wonderful - it won't be long
.
Take Care, my friend.

Re: Acupuncture for pain relief
Okay, I tried accupuncture today. Wow, I am still fascinated by the whole procedure. It was really interesting and how she knew what she knew was amazing. I didn't expect to feel better because I had been told I wouldn't feel anything after the first visit and I asked the accupuncturist that too and she advised that everyone is different, and it was like medicine, some feel it earlier, some later. Well, I did feel more energy this afternoon and some relief and less nausea. She was focusing on that because I have lost 9 pounds during this flare in about 3 weeks in fact, when she put the needle in for that area, I felt a weird sensation that was pretty trippy. I am looking forward to going back next week. Monica

Re: Acupuncture for pain relief
I know of two people with RA that say accupuncture has helped with their joint pain. They were even able to ditch the prednisone and methotrexate. The one said it helps even if you are going into a flare. You just need to get more treatments.
I might have to try this.
Hugs,
Beth

Hi Beth,
I think it is a great idea! I have never heard anything bad about accupuncture and more and more people seem to be leaning towards this area of medicine.
