What a strange group we are.....

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all feeling well...at least as well as you can . I have my first appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, in a few days (Aug. 3). It appears that I may have just gone into a flare, too. Low fever since Sunday night. Feeling just all over crappy....but I have to laugh because my first thought was "Good. I would hate to go to the Mayo feeling well!"

I am scheduled to see an ENT (Ear, Nost & Throat) doctor for my swollen salivary glands and pressure in my ear. I am guessing this is the Sjogren's, but my whole point is getting in to see ANY doctor for this autoimmune mess with the hopes that they well get me in to see a rheumy, etc. while I am there. I love my current local rheumy, but I'm tired of being juggled between specialists (GP, rheumy, pulmonologist, endocronoligiss, etc. etc.). It is impossible to get in to see a rheumy at Mayo unless you have an emergency referral, so I am hoping this will get me in the door. Wish me luck!

Thank you both! Fortunately, Rochester is only about a 4 hour drive from where I live and my husband will be going with me.

I had to laugh about feeling well going to the Mayo Clinic!! It's the truth - usually we wind up feeling better when we have our doctor appointments (lupus or not)!

I do wish you good luck and hope that you will somehow be able to get an appointment with a rheumy there. Are you staying over or driving back the same day? Either way, I hope you get the answers you deserve and need.
