Respiratory related issues Empty Respiratory related issues

I have a dry cough and irritation in my lungs whenever it appears I am in a flare. I understand that this is likely to do with inflammation around the lungs. Does anyone else have this? What can you tell me about it? My GP checked me over yesterday and my lungs are clear and healthy...no upper respiratory infection.

I also have discovered that I drink a lot more water during a flare...even if I don't have a fever Question Suspect

Hi Beth,

I have had this along with shortness of breath, my gp also stated I had no unusual sounds in my lungs. When I finally went to see my rhuemy he said it was caused by inflamation around my lungs and ribs. He increased my prednisone and it eventually went away.

Hi Beth and Melissa,

I too have a lot of problems with inflammation around my lungs and ribs. Whenever I get a cold it more often than not turns into a chest infection and now with being on immunosuppressants it takes me a lot longer to get rid of them Mad ! I'm asthmatic also and that doesn't help, although I would be a lot worse off without my puffers, I do think that the preventers help to keep the inflammation at bay!

Beth, maybe you need a dose of pred to bring it under control.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Take Care

I started the Prednisone today. I'll let you know what happens!

Hi Beth, I get that way too. I can't take pred so I have to just wait it out. Monica
